Our take on The Deed II
The scenario’s timed character routines add pressure to choosing when to act, but they also narrow the plan around changing schedules. Its focus on one murder and a detective’s questioning leaves less room for broader exploration or a range of unrelated activities.
What is The Deed II?
Set in 1930s Paris, The Deed II follows Kenneth Miller as he encounters Frank Graceman, an orderly who abused him in a mental asylum.
Miller enters a brothel where Graceman spends time and plans his revenge. The scenario includes ten non-player characters, each with a story, and several possible murder weapons, including poison, surgical tools, blunt objects, and piano wire. Players search for evidence that gives another character a motive to kill Graceman, then choose when to act as people move according to their own schedules. After the murder, an inspector questions Miller. The outcome depends on whether he convinces the detective of his innocence or shifts suspicion to someone else, with multiple possible endings.
How The Deed II plays

- 02Evidence and framing
- Evidence can point to another character as having a motive to kill Graceman.
- 03Multiple endings
- The detective’s investigation can end with Miller convincing him or placing blame on someone else.
