- Players who prefer direct combat may find the focus on traversal and physics puzzles too narrow
Our take on The Cave Diver
The game focuses its challenge on hand-by-hand movement and physical navigation, which sacrifices conventional combat variety. Progress therefore depends on patience, repeated failures, and learning how the cave’s obstacles respond.
What is The Cave Diver?
The Cave Diver is a physics-based horror game about descending through a suffocating cave system using unconventional controls for each hand.
Players crawl through narrow tunnels, choose between branching routes, and solve physical obstacles by managing grip and movement. Failed attempts can end with the character trapped and killed, while later descents may reveal the remains of previous divers. Crude signs placed on cave walls provide markers for tracking progress through the labyrinth. The story follows a family legend about a rare flower said to cure any ailment, drawing the player toward horrors buried beneath the earth. Progress depends on repeated attempts, careful movement, and learning the cave’s physical challenges.
How The Cave Diver plays
- 01Hand-Based Movement
- Each hand is controlled separately to pull the character through obstacles and confined spaces.
- 02Physics Puzzles
- Navigation requires manipulating grip and movement to pass physical challenges.
- 03Branching Cave Routes
- The underground maze includes alternate passages and detours that shape the descent.
- 04Persistent Cave Markers
- Players can place rough signs on stone walls to record their route.
- 05Successive Divers
- Later attempts may reveal the remains of characters lost during earlier descents.
