Our take on System Shock: Enhanced Edition
Its defining structure is a first-person exploration of a damaged space station where combat, hacking, cyberspace sequences, and environmental puzzles share the same campaign.
What is System Shock: Enhanced Edition?
Play as a hacker awakening aboard Citadel, a damaged space station controlled by the hostile artificial intelligence SHODAN.
Explore its sectors, battle cyborgs, robots, and mutants, and gather weapons, hardware attachments, and life-support items. Cyberspace sequences involve stealing information, bypassing security, and confronting defensive programs. Progress also includes solving puzzles, rewiring access panels, and entering SHODAN’s cyber-realm. The Enhanced Edition adds modern display and control options, including widescreen resolutions up to 4K, mouse aiming, adjustable field of view, remappable commands, and support for fan missions and mods. A Classic mode preserves an experience closer to the original release, while the package also includes maps, manuals, guides, music, and other bonus materials.
