Our take on Super Rebellion
The defining structure is its sixth stage, which has no ending and turns the final episode into an ongoing score chase. That endless section sits alongside six possible post-defeat finales, linking arcade replay to performance-based story outcomes.
What is Super Rebellion?
Super Rebellion is an arcade shoot 'em up set during humanity's resistance against an alien intergalactic empire.
Players pilot spaceships through six stages with semi-procedural structure, escalating challenges, bosses, semi-bosses, items, and three difficulty levels. Special attacks are limited and become available through collected items, adding a timing and resource decision during battles. The game includes selectable spaceships and characters, unlockable ships and characters, local multiplayer co-op, and an online ranking. Episode 6 has no ending and continues as a score-focused stage. Player performance affects the story, with six possible finals shown after defeat. Its presentation draws from Japanese series, films, music, anime, Tokusatsu, and rock bands from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
