Our take on Super Motherload
The couch co-op format restricts multiplayer to shared local sessions. That choice supports same-room play but excludes online groups, while procedural generation makes repeated runs less predictable than a fixed campaign.
What is Super Motherload?
Super Motherload is a digging adventure set on Mars during an alternate Cold War.
Players work for an interplanetary mining operation, harvesting resources while uncovering a mystery beneath the planet's surface. Each playthrough uses a procedurally generated world. Mining pod upgrades, supplies, quests, and randomly available special abilities provide RPG-inspired progression. The game includes branching choices, multiple endings, more than 150 explosive puzzles, and a boss battle. It supports solo play and local couch co-op for up to 4 players, with Normal and Hardcore modes. A fully voiced cast of Soviet and American characters and an original score accompany the game. The Steam edition also includes Motherload Goldium Edition, the 2004 title that inspired games such as Infiniminer.
