Our take on Stray Children
Its defining mechanic is the choice to confront monstrous adults with either conventional attacks or carefully chosen words, turning dialogue into a direct part of each turn-based battle.
What is Stray Children?
Enter a forgotten role-playing world after a young boy activates an ancient console and is carried through its screen.
The new land is inhabited by children, while monstrous adults known as the Olders roam beyond the walls. Exploration reveals the setting’s mysteries and the troubled stories behind its creatures. Battles take place in turns, with choices between direct attacks and using carefully chosen words as weapons. Players can dodge waves of bottled-up emotions, uncover what drives each Older, and attempt to reach their heart. Stray Children presents a bittersweet fairy-tale adventure about children surviving in a dangerous world shaped by familiar troubles. The game also asks players to keep its ending secret after completing it.
