Our take on Sproots
The 2–5 hour playtime gives the game a compact structure, but limits how long a colony can develop across its survival, exploration, learning, crafting, and breeding systems.
What is Sproots?
Sproots is a survival and colony management game about small creatures that need regular supplies of food and water.
Their camp sits beside a life plant, which provides water, while players must help secure food. The creatures can travel through 5 biomes, collect objects for study, develop skills, make items and buildings, and share discoveries with one another. Each creature dies of old age at around 60, so the colony needs to produce new eggs in its nest. The game includes 35 items to find, 11 skills to acquire, and 13 crafts to learn. Estimated playtime is 2–5 hours.
