Our take on Spitkiss
Rather than using a conventional hero, battlefield or fantasy setting, the game turns a body into the platforming environment and makes bodily fluids part of movement and communication. Its story also places polyamory and genderfluid or non-binary identities within a comic-and-emoji structure.
What is Spitkiss?
Spitkiss is a colorful platformer set inside the world of the Spitkissers, tiny beings who communicate through bodily fluids and emojis.
Movement across organ-shaped environments combines jumping, flowing, bouncing and projectile timing, with precision and reflexes central to progress. The game presents Ymer’s feelings through a hand-drawn story, while a second narrative follows the Spitkissers. Comics and emojis carry the love story, which includes polyamory and genderfluid or non-binary identities. The campaign contains 80 levels with replay-focused challenges, organic progression and pee challenges. Controls use swipes to make the character jump, including one-thumb play.
How Spitkiss plays
- 01Organ-Themed Levels
- The 80-stage campaign places its platforming environments within Ymer’s represented body.
- 02Dual-Layer Story
- Comics and emojis present both the Spitkissers’ world and Ymer’s hand-drawn narrative.
- 03Precision Movement
- Progress combines jumping, flowing, bouncing and timed projectile actions that require reflexes.
- 04Replay Challenges
- Levels include additional challenges intended for repeated play.
Spitkiss compared to similar games
Spitkiss uses swipe-based platforming across 80 organ-themed levels, while SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER combines runner gameplay with shooting and asks players to run, jump, dodge and destroy enemies. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, giving it a broader action-adventure structure than Spitkiss’s level-based format.
