Our take on Spell Swap
The page emphasizes tournaments and large groups, but stated controller support is limited to 4 players. Larger matches depend on having enough keyboard inputs and controllers, and additional controller support can vary by setup.
What is Spell Swap?
Spell Swap is a 2D platform combat game in which wizards trade spells whenever they hit one another.
Each participant begins with a single spell, and attacks may transfer that spell to the target, allowing it to be used against its former owner later. Matches support local multiplayer and online play through Steam Remote Play Together, but there is no single-player mode. Tournaments can use a chosen selection from 24 spells and can be adjusted with different modes, goals, team arrangements, and gameplay modifiers.
These options include shorter recharge periods, springy environments, altered visual styles, and thunderstorms. The game supports four controller users, while larger groups can use a combination of keyboard inputs and controllers. Players must choose targets carefully and adapt as their available spells change.
