Our take on Souls of White Star
The likely bounce point is the resource-driven card draw. Players must spend resources before drawing, then manage card conversion and unit-specific action points during grid battles. Anyone expecting cards to arrive freely or every hand to function without resource planning may hit the wall before the tactical layer fully opens up.
What is Souls of White Star?
Souls of White Star combines deck building and card collection with turn-based grid combat.
Battles use movement, attack ranges, terrain, and a two-sided card mechanic that can convert unwanted cards into action points for selected units. Drawing cards costs resources, while playing them does not; different spending levels provide access to cards of several rarities. Cards can be gained or removed through battles, base construction, enemy-deck copying, technology upgrades, and exploration events. The game includes three factions, ten majors, twenty chronoweapons, more than 700 cards, and 150 spacecraft. A story campaign and a standard mode are available, with four chapters in the early-access release. Workshop support is included.
