Our take on Soul Reaper
The core resource has several competing uses: souls can form combat squads, improve creatures, raise the Reaper’s stats, or be worked into equipment.
What is Soul Reaper?
Soul Reaper is a turn-based RPG set in The Vault, where the Soul Reaper seeks to rebuild his army after an attack by the Midnight Council.
Defeated enemies yield souls that can be arranged into 3x3 battle squads, combined to raise a creature’s XP, consumed to improve the Reaper’s stats, or made into and added to equipment. The Vault has three layers—Volcanheim, Elysium, and Polarus—with treasure to find in each. Combat uses type advantages and unit placement, while bosses grant abilities that open routes through previously blocked areas. Players can speed up battles to 3x or avoid overworld encounters. The selected Reaper Fragment affects character interactions and how the story unfolds.
