Our take on Fuga: Melodies of Steel
The wartime premise and mysterious tank receive prominent treatment, but the core play also involves assigning children to turrets and managing their emotions and bonds. The experience therefore gives relationship and decision systems a substantial role alongside combat.
What is Fuga: Melodies of Steel?
A wartime RPG follows children who board the giant Taranis tank after their village is engulfed by war.
Each child has individual traits and skills, and players place them at different gun turrets to fight enemies. Inside the tank, the children experience emotions and develop bonds with one another; managing these elements can change the course of their journey. Taranis conceals the Soul Cannon, a forbidden weapon that can be released during crises. Progress also involves decisions about sacrifices, safer routes, and other ways forward. The game combines tank battles, child placement, relationship management, and story choices as the group attempts to save their families.
