Our take on Sisyphus Paradox
The run-based structure gives up a fixed, authored route in favor of changing maps and repeated attempts. That supports varied build choices, but players seeking one consistent campaign path may find the restart cycle limiting.
What is Sisyphus Paradox?
Sisyphus Paradox combines side-scrolling shoot-'em-up combat with roguelike mechanics.
Players travel across procedurally generated star maps, choosing routes and facing random encounters and enemies while trying to return to Earth. Each defeat begins a new journey, with persistent bonuses providing additional options between runs. The game includes three playable ships with distinct mechanics, 56 upgradeable items spanning weapons, passive effects, and active specials, and 10 increasingly challenging timestreams. Three enemy factions have their own strengths, weaknesses, bosses, and minibosses. Each ship can equip two weapons, two passives, and two specials, allowing different builds for each run.
