Our take on Shoot 1UP DX
The fleet-control premise receives the strongest emphasis, while the campaign consists of six levels. Adjustable difficulty and speed add variation to the pace, but they do not expand the stated number of stages.
What is Shoot 1UP DX?
Shoot 1UP DX is a shoot 'em up where collected ships join the fight immediately instead of being stored for later.
The fleet can grow to 30 ships for one player, or up to 60 ships across two-player local co-op. Players can tighten the formation to evade enemy fire or spread it out to use the Plasma Auger. Weapon strength rises as ships are collected and falls when ships are lost. Ships can also be sacrificed to create a bomb that removes bullets, with greater power when more ships have been gathered. The game includes six levels, adjustable difficulty, and adjustable gameplay speed. The Steam edition adds leaderboards, achievements, trading cards, and remappable keyboard controls.
