Its defining mechanic is the three-ship Yamato: fighters can dock, separate, and rearrange during a run, with each formation changing the available attacks. Ship positioning is the central combat decision rather than a one-time upgrade choice.
What is SOL CRESTA?
SOL CRESTA is a shooting game centered on the Yamato, a craft made from three fighters: Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susano.
Play begins with one ship, while collected items bring allied fighters into the formation. Docking, separating, and rearranging the ships changes attack properties and available formations. Arcade Mode includes a time limit, Caravan Mode for score challenges, and online leaderboards. The game continues ideas from Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta, with retro-styled visuals and music by Yuzo Koshiro. The Dramatic DLC adds a separate story mode, character and device information, and a different ending. The Legendary Fighters DLC adds CR47, Wing Galiber, and Wing Galiber II. These fighters can be used in Caravan Mode, but not in Dramatic Mode.
