SimulationIs ShipCrafter worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Naval combat fans who want to design and test original ships
- Simulation players who enjoy tuning buoyancy, armor, weapons, and submarines
- Groups of up to 10 players who want shared sandbox battles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly scripted naval campaign rather than ship construction and custom scenarios
- Players who prefer simple combat systems without physics-based buoyancy, ballistics, and component damage
- Players looking for a puzzle, survival-crafting, or land-based management game
Our take on ShipCrafter
The defining experience is building warships from 1×1 m blocks and testing whether their weight, buoyancy, armor, and weapons function in real-time naval combat.
What is ShipCrafter?
Build naval vessels from 1×1 m blocks, choose armor and weapons, and tune density, center of mass, and adjustable ballasts.
Realtime buoyancy accounts for submerged volume, weight, and ocean waves, while shell behavior considers air pressure, altitude, speed, mass, armor thickness, and impact angle. Damage affects ship systems such as turrets and engines rather than using only health bars. The campaign contains more than 50 missions and over 20 enemy ships. Custom battles support weather, time-of-day settings, bots-versus-bots matches, and manual or automatic weapon control. Players can visit ships from a first-person view, share designs through Steam Workshop, and battle with up to 10 people in sandbox mode.
How ShipCrafter plays
- 01Block Shipbuilding
- Vessels are assembled from 1×1 m blocks, with editor controls for color, density, and center of mass.
- 02Buoyancy Simulation
- Floating behavior responds to weight, submerged volume, and changing wave conditions.
- 03Ballistic Combat
- Projectile behavior uses air pressure, altitude, speed, mass, armor thickness, and impact angle.
- 04System Damage
- Hits can reduce the performance of turrets and engines instead of relying solely on health bars.
- 05Campaign Missions
- The campaign includes more than 50 missions against over 20 different ships.
- 06Custom Battles
- Scenarios can set weather, time of day, and bot-versus-bot naval engagements.
- 07Workshop Sharing
- Steam Workshop allows ship designs to be shared and downloaded.
- 08Multiplayer Sandbox
- Sandbox naval battles support up to 10 participants, with damage optionally enabled or disabled.
