We tell you who should skip it, too.

- Documentary viewers who want to explore ships from Oceanliner Designs
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused action may bounce off the tour-based exploration structure.
- Users looking for a mission-driven campaign or character progression may find the experience too open-ended.
- Players uninterested in maritime history and ship design are unlikely to find much to investigate.
Our take on Ship Explorer
The bounce point arrives when the initial novelty of boarding a famous vessel fades: the experience centers on wandering, activating explanatory objects, and adjusting the environment rather than pursuing missions or sustained combat. Players expecting a conventional action game may stop there.
What is Ship Explorer?
Ship Explorer is a companion experience to the Oceanliner Designs YouTube channel.
It lets players tour historic ocean liners and warships, including SS United States and Morro Castle, while exploring their decks and learning about their design and history. Interactive objects trigger dialogue explaining how parts of each vessel worked. Horns, guns, and other features can be activated to show them in animated operation. The experience also includes controls for weather, time of day, and season. Players can revisit important historical moments, view areas that have not been accessible for decades, and record scenes with a photo mode.
