Our take on Shadows of Duat
The tomb itself changes the route ahead: a familiar corridor can lead somewhere different and present new threats, making navigation part of the horror rather than a fixed path through the setting.
What is Shadows of Duat?
Set in Egypt in 1923, this survival horror adventure follows an archaeologist and her team into the tomb of an unnamed pharaoh.
The tomb seals them inside as the pharaoh and his armies awaken. Exploration takes place entirely within a colossal Egyptian underworld filled with secrets, traps, curses, enemies, and recurring puzzles. Ammunition is scarce, so encounters require judgment and observation. Four playable characters—the Archaeologist, Engineer, Mercenary, and Sage—offer distinct abilities and perspectives on the story. Labyrinthine routes may change where corridors lead, while murals, statues, and other details provide clues. Exploration can reveal hidden curiosities and unique items, and decisions determine several possible endings.
