Our take on SGS Korean War
Rather than focusing only on a short battle, the game spans the war’s mobile opening and later fortified stalemate through both brief scenarios and a full campaign. Political and diplomatic choices sit alongside military operations.
What is SGS Korean War?
This strategy game covers the Korean War from June 1950 to May 1953.
Players command either North Korean and Chinese Communist forces, with Soviet support, or the United Nations, including South Korean, American, Commonwealth, and other forces. Play ranges from short scenarios, such as the 3-turn Chosin scenario, to a 150-turn grand campaign. Turns represent one week. Military operations include troop movement, air and artillery support, logistics, fortifications, strategic bombing, and partisan warfare. Cards and events handle political and diplomatic decisions, including uncertain timing for Chinese intervention. Regimental-level land units, air squadrons, naval task forces, terrain, and weather effects are represented. The game also includes optional alternate starting conditions for the grand campaign.
