Serious Sam: Tormental is a 3D top-down shooter set inside the imagined worlds of Mental, a god of destruction.
Runs take players through procedurally generated dungeons filled with monsters. Gun parts found during a run can be combined to create weapons, while randomized upgrades offer different options. Characters have unique abilities, and challenges unlock worlds, characters, weapons, and upgrades. The final area, called the Vault, includes secrets and challenges beyond defeating its boss. A Mindmap lets players find imagined enemies, weapons, and items to use in the game. Local co-op supports two players facing stronger bosses, sharing or competing for XP, and reviving each other with ankh pickups.
