What is Constance?
Constance is a hand-drawn 2D action adventure about an artist navigating a colorful inner world shaped by her declining mental health.
Paint lets her move through ground and walls, attack enemies, and traverse platforming challenges. Her brush gains new techniques for combat, puzzles, and exploration. The interconnected world contains secrets, upgrades, characters, side quests, and playable flashbacks about personal struggle, creativity, work-life balance, and purpose. Brush techniques also increase Paint corruption, creating negative effects when corruption reaches its limit. Inspirations found during exploration can be drawn into a journal, where materials allow sketches to be upgraded and used to customize Constance’s abilities. After death, players can pay a cost to continue or return to a safe point.
