Our take on Rough Justice: '84
The likely bounce point is the transition from agency planning to case mini-games. Assignments can require cryptograms, reflex challenges, or mathematical tasks, so players expecting every case to use the same dice-and-card routine may hit a wall there.
What is Rough Justice: '84?
Run a private security agency in a noir crime story with board game-inspired strategy, dice, and cards.
Assign freelance agents to security, repossession, fugitive recovery, moonlighting, and other cases, matching their skills to each case’s requirements. Each agent has five stats, rated from 0 to 5, which determine the number of dice used for stat rolls. Cards can temporarily increase stat values, while gear cards have tier and durability ratings that determine their rarity and number of uses. Completing caseloads provides rewards and expands the agency’s available roster. Some cases include puzzles and mini-games, including cryptograms, digital and analog challenges, reflex tests, and mathematical tasks. The story follows a secret organization spreading its influence across Seneca City.
