Our take on Rogue Warrior
The focus on a defined military character and direct combat leaves less room for exploration, role-playing systems, or slower discovery. Its two-part structure also divides attention between a story campaign and competitive online matches.
What is Rogue Warrior?
Take the role of Richard Marcinko in a first-person shooter offering a solo story and online player-versus-player matches.
The opening operation sends him to interfere with a suspected North Korean missile initiative, before exposing a plot tied to technology capable of shifting Cold War power. The story moves through covert assignments, clashes outside conventional military practice, and an incursion into the Soviet Union. More than 25 different execution techniques are available, while certain targets can be removed to deny advantages to hostile forces. Online battles allow opponents to fight each other and use these executions. Mickey Rourke provides Marcinko’s voice, and the campaign centers on the character’s rule-breaking black-operations approach.
