Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat that allows attacking and defending at the same time may hit the mode restrictions.
- Players who prefer a single protagonist may find switching among up to three characters distracting.
- Players looking for a purely historical or realistic city adventure may not want the magical realms and monsters.
Our take on REYNATIS
The likely bounce point is the combat rhythm: Suppressed Mode removes attacks, while Liberated Mode removes defense. Players who expect a conventional action RPG moveset may find the required switching between evasion and offense restrictive rather than flexible.
What is REYNATIS?
REYNATIS is an action RPG set in a realistic recreation of Shibuya, Tokyo, in 2024.
The story follows Marin, a wizard seeking freedom, and Sari, an officer who uses magic to enforce order. Battles alternate between Suppressed Mode, which prevents attacks but allows quick evasion, and Liberated Mode, which enables attacks while removing defense. Up to three characters can be switched during combat, each with distinct abilities. Shibuya serves as an exploration area with landmarks, civilian conversations, tips, and quests. Suppressed Mode conceals wizard identities, while Liberated Mode enables faster movement but can attract reports to the M. E. A. Wizards can also enter Another, an alternate realm filled with monsters and varied environments.
