Our take on Red Mercenary
The game trades persistent security for run-based tension: permanent death can end a character's attempt, while procedural dungeons and repeated class upgrades keep the structure focused on replaying runs rather than following one fixed path.
What is Red Mercenary?
Red Mercenary is a rogue-lite action-platformer about a mercenary retrieving a magic crystal.
Runs take place in procedurally generated dungeons, where enemies continually appear and permanent death ends the attempt. Players can fight alone or join online co-op sessions with up to four players. During runs, characters gain abilities, magic items, levels, and additional equipment. Players choose a class, develop it across multiple runs, and assemble builds from more than 100 items. The game focuses on surviving enemy swarms while progressing through repeated dungeon runs.
How Red Mercenary plays
- 01Online cooperative play

- 03Class progression
- A selected class can be upgraded across multiple runs.
- 04Item-based builds
- More than 100 items provide options for developing a character build.
- 05Permanent death
- A character's death ends the current run.
