Is Caveblazers worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike players who want permanent-death platforming runs
- Action players who enjoy varied weapons, items, and boss fights
- Solo players who want a new daily challenge with one attempt
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want to retain progress after a failed run will hit the permanent-death system.
- Players seeking relaxed pacing may bounce off the fast combat, hostile tracking, and brutal difficulty.
- Players looking for a primarily story-driven adventure may find the run-based structure too repetitive.
- Players seeking a full built-in multiplayer experience may not fit the game's mainly solo presentation.
Our take on Caveblazers
The bounce point arrives when a failed expedition wipes the current run. Daily challenges add another hard stop: the shared scenario allows only one attempt, so experimentation has a fixed limit on those runs.
What is Caveblazers?
Caveblazers is a fantasy action platformer built around roguelike runs.
Each expedition generates different cave areas, enemies, weapons, equipment, upgrades, and potion identities. Permanent death resets the run, while new areas and monsters appear as the adventurer travels deeper. Friendly and hostile AI characters can follow or track the player through the cave. Combat uses weapons and magical items, with a focus on rapid movement and varied encounters. A boss appears between each area, with individual attack patterns and strategies. Daily challenges provide one shared run per day, including a starting loadout and selected traits. Character customization includes unlockable clothing and hats. Additional challenges award items, weapons, and perks. An online multiplayer mod is also mentioned.

Sundered: Eldritch Edition is also an action platformer with roguelike elements, but its description identifies it as a metroidvania, while Caveblazers centers on procedurally generated cave runs, permanent death, daily challenges, and boss encounters between areas. Abyssus focuses on multiplayer shooting through hand-crafted levels and weapon modification, whereas Caveblazers uses platforming, exploration, magical items, and equipment discovery.
