Our take on Ancient Abyss
The defining structure is a Zelda-like maze combined with roguelike runs: randomized exploration, new skills and items, and permanent death shape each descent toward the abyss.
What is Ancient Abyss?
Ancient Abyss is a 2D action game that combines Zelda-like exploration with roguelike mechanics.
Each run takes place in a randomly generated maze containing hidden areas, events, treasures, and secrets. As the character advances, gaining power, skills, and items opens routes that were previously unreachable. Combat supports different approaches through melee and ranged weapons. The maze is divided into layers leading toward the bottom of the abyss, where dark forces are hidden. Perma-death gives each run lasting consequences. The presentation uses pixel-art environments, 2D animation, and dynamic lighting effects.
