Our take on Heart&Slash
Permanent death reshapes each attempt: a failed run produces a new level, different equipment and enemies, and fresh secrets to explore.
What is Heart&Slash?
Heart&Slash is a fast-paced 3D brawler set in a colorful but desolate future where machines are all that remain of human civilization.
As Heart, an innocent robot, players fight to escape QuAsSy, an all-seeing machine. Each death permanently ends the run and generates a new level with different weapons, equipment, enemies, and secrets. The game includes 3 worlds, each with its own enemies and bosses. More than 100 weapons and equipment pieces let Heart's setup and play style vary between runs. A persistent progression system adds new options over time, while the main structure remains built around permanent death and randomly generated stages.
How Heart&Slash plays
- 01Three game worlds
- Each world contains its own enemies and bosses to fight.
- 02Over 100 items
- Weapons and equipment pieces provide different ways to customize Heart between runs.
- 03Persistent progression
- Progression carries options forward even though each death ends the current run.
- 04Randomized runs
- New levels, enemy groups, equipment choices, and secrets appear after death.
Heart&Slash compared to similar games
