The protagonist works for a department that conceals paranormal locations from humanity and investigates a lake near a Siberian village after it turns red and nearby animals begin behaving strangely. The mission is to find out what happened to a missing forester and determine what is occurring around the lake. Near the end, the game opens into a large area for exploration. Completing objectives there requires survival, since dangerous creatures appear around the lake after nightfall.
The player must find somewhere to sleep before sunset. Enemies include aggressive dogs, flying metal spheres that discharge electricity, crystal-bodied cat-like creatures, hallucination-inducing beings, and infected animals.
