Our take on Raging Bytes
The store pitch gives substantial space to dramatic zombie-story comparisons, while the playable structure centers on contact-triggered turn-based fights, searching locations, and conserving stamina and ammunition. The narrative framing is prominent, but the described moment-to-moment play is resource-focused survival combat.
What is Raging Bytes?
Raging Bytes is a story-driven zombie RPG set after police officer Ben wakes in a hospital to find his city overrun.
He meets Dr. Barbra and travels toward the police station while investigating the outbreak, government reliability, and the fate of other survivors. Contact with pursuing zombies triggers turn-based fights, where positioning, stamina, melee weapons, and ammunition shape each encounter. Supplies can be searched for in buildings, abandoned cars, and zombie bodies.
The story includes meetings with survivors, conflicts between humans, and scenes of loss, with pixel art presenting the horror without graphic gore. Several difficulty levels are available. The demo covers the early stages for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, but progress cannot be saved or transferred to the full game.
