RPGIs Survival Log worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy time-limited scavenging and resource allocation
- Strategy fans who want to build and manage a fortified home
- Zombie-apocalypse players who prefer survival systems over a purely combat-focused game
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who dislike countdown-driven preparation, where the first major wall arrives before the 10-hour outbreak deadline
- Players seeking a short, linear experience may bounce off repeated runs, stronghold upkeep, and long-term resource management
- Players looking for a combat-only zombie game may find the scavenging, construction, farming, and morale systems too involved
Our take on Survival Log
The main bounce point is the transition from scavenging to sustained stronghold management. Players must track food, power, crops, hunger, stamina, morale, weather, blackouts, and zombie attacks rather than treating preparation as a brief opening phase.
What is Survival Log?
Survival Log combines a 10-hour pre-outbreak scavenging phase with ongoing stronghold management after the zombies arrive.
Search supermarkets, hardware stores, farmers' markets, schools, and city ruins for supplies, while deciding whether to spend time and money on food, water, fuel, or fortifications. Build and expand a safe house with living quarters, storage, power generation, and farming areas. Grow crops, cook meals, monitor hunger, stamina, and morale, and generate electricity through diesel, manual generators, or solar power. Weather, freezing conditions, blackouts, and zombie hordes create additional pressures. The game also includes traps, survivor trading by drone, neighbor rescues, selectable past identities, and repeated attempts in which failure provides experience and memories.
How Survival Log plays
- 01Timed scavenging phase
- A 10-hour countdown frames the search for food, water, fuel, construction materials, and other supplies before the outbreak.
- 02Safe house construction
- Players can arrange, install, upgrade, and expand rooms including storage, living quarters, power generation, and farming spaces.
- 03Stronghold management
- The survival phase tracks hunger, stamina, morale, crops, meals, and electricity produced by diesel, manual, or solar systems.
- 04Zombie defenses
- The base can be protected with fortifications and traps while facing repeated attacks from zombie hordes.
- 05Survivor interactions
- The game includes rescuing neighbors, trading with survivors through drones, and building a community.
- 06Persistent attempts
- Deaths provide experience and memories that carry into later efforts to survive and uncover the disaster's truth.
