Our take on Quadrant
The focus on investigation and evasion gives encounters a restrained role, limiting direct combat options. That trade-off places more weight on searching the facility, interpreting recovered material, and making story decisions than on sustained action.
What is Quadrant?
Set in 1979, Quadrant follows a three-person government haz-mat team sent to clean up the Aether Research Facility after a lunar research mission goes wrong.
Researchers studying hundreds of moon rocks have uncovered dangerous forces, and escaped specimens now threaten the secret base. Players investigate the facility by collecting documents, projection slides, and audio logs that reveal hidden events. Encounters can be handled with improvised weapons used defensively or through stealth and evasion. The story focuses on uncovering what happened as the team moves deeper into the facility. The vendor also plans multiple endings based on decisions made at important story moments, but ties that feature to the release of all episodes.
How Quadrant plays
- 01Evidence-based investigation
- Documents, slides, and audio recordings reveal information needed to expose the facility’s concealed events.
- 02Evasive encounters
- Players can use stealth and movement to avoid confronting the hostile beings inside the base.
- 03Improvised defenses
- Objects found during exploration can be used to delay or fend off enemies during encounters.
- 04Original sound work
- The game uses sound effects created by foley artists and sound engineers.
