Our take on Potion Explosion
The ingredient-selection puzzle supports both solo and local play, but its turn structure depends on choosing from a shared dispenser and managing limited carryover space. Online play is currently suspended, so the available modes are narrower than the listed multiplayer setup suggests.
What is Potion Explosion?
Potion Explosion is a digital adaptation of a puzzle board game.
Players choose ingredients from a dispenser; removing one makes the ingredients above it slide down, and matching ingredients that collide can trigger an explosion. Collected ingredients are used to complete potions, each with a specific effect and required ingredients. Storage space for ingredients carried between turns is limited, so choices affect what can be kept. Completing a potion earns points, activates its effect, and lets the player choose another potion. The game includes solo play against up to 3 adjustable AI opponents and local Pass & Play. Online multiplayer and its worldwide leaderboard are currently suspended while a replacement online integration is in development.
How Potion Explosion plays
- 01Chain-reaction ingredients
- Removing an ingredient shifts those above it, and matching pieces that meet can be collected in an explosion.
- 02Potion effects
- Completing a potion scores points and activates its effect before another potion is selected.
- 03Adjustable AI opponents
- Solo games support up to 3 computer-controlled opponents.
- 04Local Pass & Play
- Players can take turns using the same local game session.
