Our take on Dragon Castle: The Board Game
Online play and a worldwide leaderboard receive prominent emphasis, but the text also says those services have been suspended since September 30th 2022. The currently described options are solo and local pass-and-play, so the multiplayer framing does not reflect available modes.
What is Dragon Castle: The Board Game?
Dragon Castle: The Board Game is a tile game based on Mahjong Solitaire.
On each turn, players take a pair of matching tiles from the central castle and place them in a personal realm, or sacrifice them for shrines or points. Completing a matching group allows its tiles to be turned face down for scoring, followed by shrine placement that can reduce later building options. Spirit abilities can alter the board, while the active dragon sets conditions for bonus points.
Solo play includes up to 3 adjustable computer opponents. Local Pass & Play is also available. Online multiplayer and the worldwide leaderboard are unavailable at present: the vendor says online services were suspended from September 30th 2022, with a replacement integration planned.
