Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct, turn-by-turn control over every card action may find the automated resolution limiting
- Players looking for a fixed campaign structure may not prefer the run-based roguelike format and changing deck choices
- Players seeking multiplayer or party gameplay may not find the described solo deck-building structure suitable
Our take on MistsBook
Rather than making each card play a fully manual decision, the game centers on configuring interactions and then triggering them together. Its deck-building structure therefore emphasizes sequencing, energy generation, and automatic chain reactions over constant individual commands.
What is MistsBook?
MistsBook combines roguelike deck building with autobattler mechanics.
Each run begins with at least three deck sets, whose interactions can be explored to generate energy. Cards are played through a single button press, while each turn allows card order adjustments or keeping cards in hand. Floral seals can preserve a card, increase its strength, or influence card order. Mists cards provide possible central pieces for a deck, while symbols increase its energy. In each chapter, a bookmark can be exchanged for an exploration ability. The story follows a bar encounter in which a woman gives the player a book and promises to grant a request if its final page is reached.
How MistsBook plays
- 01Automatic Card Chains
- A single input plays the configured cards and activates their combined effects.
- 02Multi-Set Deck Starts
- Each run begins with at least three deck groups whose interactions can generate energy.
- 03Card Order Control
- Turns allow cards to be rearranged or retained instead of played immediately.
- 04Floral Seal Effects
- These seals can retain a card, increase its strength, or manage its position.
- 05Chapter Bookmarks
- A selected bookmark can be exchanged for an exploration ability during each chapter.
MistsBook compared to similar games
MistsBook centers on roguelike deck construction, card ordering, energy generation, and automatic chain reactions. DICEOMANCER also uses card strategies, but its description focuses on changing displayed numbers with dice power and gradually unlocking six mana types rather than automatic card resolution. The other listed alternatives do not present the same deck-building and autobattler scope.
