- Players looking for a combat-focused action game may find the emphasis on platforming and puzzles limited
Our take on PONCHO
Rather than keeping platforming on a single horizontal plane, PONCHO makes depth part of navigation. Players move across parallax layers, encounter spaces that shift between 2D and 3D, and approach areas through multiple possible solutions.
What is PONCHO?
PONCHO is a 2D platforming adventure set in a ruined world where humanity has vanished and robots search for purpose.
Poncho explores an open environment populated by characters and creatures, moving between parallax layers as well as across traditional horizontal paths. Progress involves platforming, puzzles, shifting walls, moving platforms, and areas that change between 2D and 3D perspectives. The game includes hidden secrets, several possible solutions for areas, multiple endings, and abilities that reveal further parts of the world. Its story follows a journey toward the Red Tower, Poncho’s Maker, and the possibility of saving humanity. Non-player characters and creatures are randomly generated and react to Poncho’s presence.
