We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

- Players who enjoy experimenting with crafting, enchantments and unidentified potions
- Friends seeking local cooperative dungeon crawling
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a gentle or low-pressure adventure may find the escalating monster groups and combat demanding
- Those wanting a fixed, predictable campaign may dislike randomized dungeon layouts and changing potion properties
- Players without access to local co-op partners will not use the shared-play mode
Our take on Brut@l
The game trades predictable progression for repeated discovery: dungeon layouts and potion properties change between playthroughs, while enemy combinations become harder deeper underground. Its local co-op also requires recovery after a partner dies rather than keeping both characters active throughout the run.
What is Brut@l?
Brut@l is a dungeon-crawling action game set in a procedurally generated world built from ASCII letters and presented in 3D.
Players choose a Ranger, Mage, Warrior or Amazon, then descend from Floor 1 toward Floor 26, fighting monsters with distinct attacks and weaknesses. Hidden Field Guide pages reveal enemy information, while monster groups create more demanding encounters. Progression includes crafting five weapon types, adding letter-based enchantments, brewing potions with randomized colors, effects and recipes, and forging talismans with special abilities. Local co-op supports two players, with fallen companions revived after reaching the next floor. A Level Editor allows custom dungeons containing weapons, loot, traps, furniture and monsters.
