Our take on PixelJunk™ Eden
The game centers progression on movement through compact garden stages, so its appeal is tied to traversal and exploration rather than a wider mix of activities. The varied environmental hazards add changes within that structure, but do not shift its core focus.
What is PixelJunk™ Eden?
Guide a small, agile Grimp through gardens of unusual plant life by swinging, climbing, and jumping.
Explore each stage, grow its garden, and search for hidden Spectra while facing puzzles and enemies, including Pollen Prowlers. Plants grow beneath the Grimp and can be ridden or used as places to swing from; other challenges involve cannons, zero-gravity areas, mirror worlds, and wind. The Steam version includes 15 gardens from Eden and the Encore expansion. Its mouse controls were reworked for PC, and Quick Warp returns the player to the last jump position after a fall. A continue option lets players resume from the last Spectra collected on a stage. The game also includes a techno soundtrack and a distinct graphic style.
