Our take on Pentasma
Its arcade structure prioritizes repeated combat, score chasing, and generated attack patterns, giving up the fixed level progression and broader exploration found in more expansive action games.
What is Pentasma?
Pentasma is a side-scrolling arcade shooter set in 2846, when surviving humans use Terraforming Humanoids to create planets that can support human life.
Players pilot a plasma-powered space jet to defend the Humanoids from alien attacks and raid alien planets. The game combines shooting with defensive objectives across procedurally generated planets and attack waves. The jet uses lasers, smartbombs, and tractor beams. Pentasma includes 33 enemy types, three ships, six special abilities, 30 achievements, five game modes, and online scoreboards. A high-score progress display tracks progress toward higher scores, while the play area wraps around at its boundaries.
