The defining structure is a shared nine-slot Formation Panel: party skills must be positioned together before combat, so team construction directly shapes tactical choices.
What is Path of the Abyss?
Path of the Abyss is a single-player, first-person RPG built around grid-based dungeon exploration.
The world consists of one large dungeon and several smaller ones, illustrated as black-and-white pen drawings. Real-time combat can be paused at any moment to inspect enemy intentions, select skills, and resume the fight. Before combat, party skills are arranged on a shared nine-panel Formation Panel, with positions and combinations affecting the battle. Character development includes eight abilities, five basic statistics, skills, and equipment. Players uncover dungeon mysteries and loot while strengthening the party and seeking the deepest level.
