Our take on Paper Pirates
The game keeps eliminated pirates involved as stowaways, but that role cannot win directly. This preserves participation after a vote while giving removed players a narrower objective: influence the crew and earn a later promotion.
What is Paper Pirates?
Paper Pirates is a social deduction party game for up to ten players, with phones used as controllers.
Players take roles as humans trying to sail home or ghosts working against the crew. Each day, the captain selects pirates for the crew, who may follow or defy the captain. A vote then sends one pirate overboard. Ghosts leave the ship, while an innocent human’s accuser can become a ghost. Eliminated players return as stowaways and can influence later votes, though stowaways cannot win directly. Classic, Scored, and Trait modes change the structure with secret objectives or traits. More than sixty possible events, adjustable game settings, coins, cosmetic customization, browser joining, local play, and remote play are included.
How Paper Pirates plays
- 01Three game modes
- Classic, Scored, and Trait games use different combinations of standard play, hidden objectives, and secret traits.
- 02Stowaway return system
- Players voted overboard rejoin the voyage as stowaways and can affect later votes without winning in that role.
- 03Changing daily events
- Each day may introduce one of more than sixty events, including island exploration and time travel.
- 04Browser-based joining
- Friends can enter a shared room from a computer or mobile browser without owning the game.
- 05Custom game settings
- Hosts can alter game length, event selection, starting ghost count, and the events included.
