What is Palmyra Orphanage?
Palmyra Orphanage is a first-person paranormal horror game set in an abandoned children’s home in post-Soviet Russia.
The protagonist returns to the place where they were separated from their brother and searches for documents about his relocation. Exploration takes place through empty dormitories, old classrooms, corridors, and other rooms while ghostly figures and the orphanage principal appear throughout the building. Stealth and careful attention are required to survive. Players investigate the orphanage’s history by finding marks from its past and solving riddles about the shelter. The game includes several possible endings, dark atmospheric sound, and environments based on blueprints of Russian orphanages. Its events and characters were inspired by real cases of child abuse recorded during inspections of orphanages.
