Our take on SpellFront
SpellFront concentrates its design on spell-driven first-person combat and environmental interaction, giving up the broader weapon variety and multiplayer structure found in some shooters. Its three-stage format also limits the campaign’s overall scope in exchange for a focused journey through ruins.
What is SpellFront?
SpellFront is a single-player first-person action game set in a medieval-fantasy world attacked by extraterrestrial forces.
Players control an ancient sorcerer who discovers spells while advancing through three large stages of ancient ruins. Each spell serves a different combat purpose, including ranged attacks, electric traps, and area damage. The environment can also become part of the fighting: telekinesis can move explosives or form stairways, destroyed floors can hinder enemies, and electrified water can stun groups. Battles may involve dozens of foes, requiring spell changes during combat. Spells also support exploration, secret-finding, trap traversal, and puzzles, including melting iron bars and powering an alien generator.
