Our take on OverRider
The defining mechanic is temporary enemy hijacking: each seized cyborg changes the available combat approach, turning opponents’ abilities into weapons during the fight.
What is OverRider?
OverRider is a beat ’em up set in The Chrysalis, a cybernetic city where virtual and physical realities overlap.
During battles, the Override system lets players seize enemy cyborgs and temporarily use their abilities. Each cyborg body offers different traits and combat styles. The Command Input system gives skills branching moves that open through specific inputs. Players shape their combat setup with Override Cores, Combat Extensions, and Enhancement Chips, combining them into hundreds of possible builds. Character traits, in-run evolutions, and ability upgrades add progression across battles. The story follows Mayoi through neon environments, data-filled spaces, mysteries, and confrontations in the city.
