Our take on Our Ascent
Rather than keeping RPG levels and stats permanently, the game resets them after each run. Progress instead accumulates through retained equipment and buffs, making repeated attempts and route optimization central to advancement.
What is Our Ascent?
Our Ascent combines traditional RPG progression with incremental roguelite runs.
Players level up, improve stats, purchase equipment, and fight through a limited number of enemies before each run ends. When a run finishes, levels and stats reset, while equipment and strong buffs remain available for later attempts. These retained upgrades open routes farther into the game. The experience includes silly dialogue and near-guaranteed progress, while deeper optimization comes from allocating stats, selecting efficient paths, and matching equipment to the current situation. The game is in Alpha Testing and presents a casual structure alongside choices aimed at players who want to optimize their progress.
