Is Othercide worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Tactical RPG players who enjoy planning actions and counters before committing to attacks
- Strategy players who want unit development shaped by choices in combat
- Players who enjoy repeated attempts in which defeat and returning powers shape the next challenge
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking real-time combat may bounce off the planning and counter-focused battle system
- Players who want to preserve every unit may hit a wall at the choice to sacrifice one Daughter to heal another
- Players looking for a light narrative may not want a story centered on Suffering, failure and return
Our take on Othercide
The bounce point comes when a damaged Daughter must be weighed against another unit’s survival. Players who do not want to sacrifice members of their army may stop at that choice; those unwilling to face another attempt after defeat may hit a second wall when lost powers return and the next nightmare begins.
What is Othercide?
Lead the Daughters, echoes of humanity’s greatest warrior, against creatures drawn from humanity’s suffering.
Combat uses a Dynamic Timeline System built around planning actions, counters and chains of abilities. Decisions in battle affect each Daughter’s abilities and personality. One Daughter can be sacrificed to heal another, while survivors grow stronger for the next fight. The game features boss battles against the sources of Suffering and a narrative about failure and return. After defeat, lost powers can return as the Daughters face another nightmare.
How Othercide plays

- 05Return After Defeat
- Lost powers can return after failure, before the Daughters face another nightmare.
