We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want a World War II tank simulator centered on Red Army battles
- Players who prefer missions presented in a fixed sequence
- Tank-game fans who want to switch to an allied vehicle after destruction
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking multiple playable wartime factions may find the Red Army-only scope restrictive.
- Players wanting open-ended mission selection may bounce off the sequential campaign structure.
- Players unwilling to learn keyboard and mouse controls before starting may struggle at the control setup stage.
Our take on On the front line
The likely bounce point arrives before the first battle: movement and camera functions are assigned across keyboard and mouse inputs, and the game specifically directs players to review them in Settings. Players who expect immediate access without studying controls may stop there.
What is On the front line?
Command a tank in a World War II simulator focused on Red Army battles.
The campaign takes place across two large locations and presents combat missions in sequence. Tank movement uses the arrow keys or W, S, A, and D, with the mouse handling additional control; the mouse wheel changes the camera distance from the vehicle. Two AI-controlled tanks accompany the player. If the player’s tank is destroyed, control shifts to one of these supporting vehicles instead of ending the game. Medium tanks trade protection and shell power for mobility, while heavy tanks fire stronger projectiles but move and turn more slowly. The game directs players to review the controls in Settings before starting.
