Our take on OMUSUBI
Rather than using a conventional adventure journey in a familiar world, the game turns an ordinary school route into the Sanzu River. Its structure combines a short horror narrative with branching endings, Japanese folklore, and a setting between life and death.
What is OMUSUBI?
OMUSUBI follows Hinako, a high school student whose route to school becomes the Sanzu River, a realm between life and death.
She encounters strange creatures and Issa, an unusual man, then investigates devices inside a mysterious mansion while seeking a way back to her family. This Japanese-style horror adventure uses pixel art, still illustrations, and 2D animation, with settings and scares drawing on Japanese customs and folklore. The story branches into multiple endings and follows a long-running relationship between humans and a god in a small Japanese town. Completing the game takes about 3 to 4 hours; collecting all ending branches takes about 6 to 8 hours.
