Our take on ODA
Its focus on swapping positions makes spatial experimentation central, but leaves less room for conventional platforming or combat variety. Progress depends on understanding how objects and the player can be repositioned, so the game’s unusual mechanics take priority over a broader range of interactions.
What is ODA?
ODA is a retrowave puzzle-platformer set in a cyberpunk city.
The player takes the role of Adam and moves forward by manipulating positions with a weapon that fires teleballs. These shots can exchange Adam's location with an object, or switch two objects with one another. The game also includes a mechanic called Wrap, which is introduced during play rather than explained in detail. Progress requires solving varied spatial puzzles and discovering different routes through the levels. The game presents an untold story alongside its puzzle structure, combining cyberpunk imagery with retrowave styling. Players can also perform special tricks while experimenting with the swapping mechanics.
