Our take on YAPP: Yet Another Puzzle Platformer
The defining structure is the combination of cloning and teleportation with ordinary box manipulation. Progress depends on arranging a clone, a box, and the player so that one jump can create the position needed for the next.
What is YAPP: Yet Another Puzzle Platformer?
YAPP is a difficult puzzle-platform game built around creating duplicates and instant movement.
Its challenges combine those powers with movable crates: a duplicate may hold one in place for a jump, while another sequence involves carrying a crate, leaping, shifting to the duplicate, and jumping once more. The game offers six themed worlds, 42 distinct puzzles, and 10 stars containing extra challenges. Players can alter the flow of time, and nearly every puzzle may be bypassed; the level-selection area is the sole exception because it is itself a puzzle.
The platforming is described as manageable for typical players but potentially frustrating for newcomers. The game also features adapted excerpts from an ancient Chinese thinker's work and an unexpected event in stage 6-7.
